How it works

From November 1 at 12:00 a.m. ET to 11:59 p.m. PT, Bilt members can transfer points to Etihad Guest with bonuses based on their status level:

Bilt Blue Members: 25% bonus (1,000 Bilt Points → 1,250 Etihad miles)
Bilt Silver Members: 50% bonus (1,000 Bilt Points → 1,500 Etihad miles)
Bilt Gold Members: 75% bonus (1,000 Bilt Points → 1,750 Etihad miles)
Bilt Platinum Members: 100% bonus (1,000 Bilt Points → 2,000 Etihad miles)

The minimum transfer is 2,000 points for Blue members and 1,000 points for everyone else. Transfers process within 72 hours.

Where Etihad miles make sense

Here's where things get interesting. While Etihad Guest has its quirks, there are genuine sweet spots for premium cabin redemptions.

Etihad's own premium cabins

Etihad has restricted premium award space through partners recently, making Etihad Guest your best bet for their First Class Apartments and Business Studios.

New York (JFK) to Abu Dhabi (AUH) in First Class costs 160,000 Etihad miles one-way. With the 100% bonus, Platinum members need just 80,000 Bilt points.

Toronto (YYZ) to Abu Dhabi in First Apartment runs 200,000 miles one-way. That's 100,000 Bilt points for Platinum members with this bonus.

The catch? Etihad adds hefty carrier surcharges on their own flights, often $500-800 even in premium cabins.

Partner redemptions aren't great

While Etihad Guest has lots of airline partners, the redemption rates are generally poor. Their partner award chart makes most redemptions cost significantly more than booking through other programs.

You're better off using other Bilt transfer partners for most alliance redemptions.

Important warnings about Etihad Guest

In general? Don't transfer speculatively.

Etihad Guest miles expire after just 18 months of inactivity. The only way to extend them is by crediting a flight to the program - transfers don't count.

Award cancellation fees are steep, often running $150-200 per ticket.

Should you transfer?

This 100% Etihad bonus isn't for everyone. Consider it only if:
